sky

"Heavens unites the simple and the all-encompassing. At once timeless and forever new, our urge to look upward is a fundamental sign of our humanity, a symbol of our need both to locate ourselves and to imagine other realities."

----

I have this new found interest in the moon and stars.
It started, subconsciously, when I visited an observatory with my family in Estes Park, CO. We looked at Saturn, a star cluster, and the moon. It was all beautiful.

However, what sparked my interest the most was the fact that the star cluster burst almost 20,000 years ago. What?!?!

That may not be news to most people and maybe I learned about it in 7th grade Astrology, but it means something to me now.

This is a star cluster:

Anyways, shouldn't this be something to think about? Don't you think it makes sense that I would want to think about it?

The bible says the sky is a tent.

"He stretches out the sky like a canopy and spreads it out like a tent to live in." Isaiah 40:22

heavens

could be winter
could be stars
could be juniper
could be mars

so far away
so gone, so soon
so rich in splendor
so like the moon

so everything
so, oh, so close
so almost perfect
so more than most

so mine, so me
so there, for me
so wise, so true
so deep, and blue

so blue, you be
like water and sea
like air, like rain
the sky, your stain

a tent to roam
a canopy, a home
over me, pure light
even a hint at night

on me, in joy -
night, light destroy
but good,so good,
my one decoy
